WE'RE NOT ALL IN THIS TOGETHER

subwaysurf.jpg

so i went to see Built To Spill last night in cleveland. it was a good performance and all that. . . but the crowd? what the f*ck? people were crowd surfing and moshing (well trying to) during mellow-happy-guitar-noodling Built To Spill. one guy almost got his ass kicked for going around and feeling up girls from behind. and a girl standing next to me got singed a bit when someone threw a lit cigarette over their shoulder into the crowd. it was just damn weird.

oh yeah, japan's coming soon. . . i swear/hope.

MP3:

i love it when people send me music. it doesn't happen all that often, but usually when it does i like what i receive. so i guess that's better than getting a boat-load of crap. i also love it when people send me music that matches up with my emotional landscape in unexpected and yet comforting ways. a friendly german (my favorite kind) sent this my way. i've heard it before, but damned if i can find a copy of it on my computer. so thanks to her now you all can enjoy how this song REALLY should be sung.

• Les Reines Prochaines - Opfer Dieses Liedes (Wicked Game)

buy music, especially independent.

What a wonderful song, my favorite version of Wicked Game!! btw: at the time of the recording, swiss video artist Pipilotti Rist was a member of Les Reines Prochaines and did this one.

have you ever heard the cover by "an april march?" neither have i? but my mother heard a cover of wicked game on a fashion television show this morning with a woman vocalistic. from extensive research i have uncovered that this is most likely performed by "an april march." if anyone has a recording of it i'd love to hear it!
